Whale Watching

Today was our whale watching tour. Mimi woke us up early so that we could have breakfast, get ready and then review the research we had done in Hong Kong on different whale species, their habitats, and about our whale watching trip, but after starting to do the review, Mimi thought we all looked too tired, so she sent us back to bed to get another hour of sleep. Even though Mimi had wanted us to review our knowledge, she wanted us to enjoy our day more. It was so kind of her to let us go back to bed. So, Miss Smith (Mimi) is very warm, like our mummy. We want to say we love her.

This was my first time to take a catamaran out to sea in deep water. We sailed in both Canadian and American waters. I saw Mt Baker and it is so very beautiful! We took a long boat ride to find the whales, but along the way we also saw a colony of sea lions, and a rare puffin and many seagulls. This was my first time to either of these. Sea lions are very large, but one quite aggressive towards another. I was surprised by this. The puffin is a type of sea bird.

Finally, we found the killer whales. They keep the same action when they move. The sea was very clean and didn’t have a fishy smell it to. It was very comfortable. I really enjoyed not just seeing the birds but being on the boat as well. There were other people on the boat as well, and it was unbelievable, because today, I also got to talk to a native speaker. I started talking to a Canadian child, and he was very cute. He wanted to play with me, so I played with him. At the end, he said that he would give me a diamond. J J Again, I really want to thank Miss Smith (Mimi)and Eric because they were tired too, but they continued to look after us. Thank you very much.
