Hot Spring Tour

Today, we took a long beautiful boat ride to anatural hot spring. It was magical. It was a verysmall place. The water was warm and there were some coins in the water. I was touched because three dogs accompanied us to the hot spring’s place.

But we hadn’t seen the dogs before and they were wild animals. They had no one to feed them. We had to hike into the Hot Springs, but the hike was like a Hong Kong hike. The path was all man-made and although it was beautiful, it did remind us of Hong Kong hikes. I like Canadian hiking better. It is more fun and challenging. The trees were gorgeous though. They were huge as they are part of the Pacific Rim National Park. The giant trees had soft moss hanging off them and there were lovely ferns everywhere. Very beautiful and peaceful.

When we got back from our Hot Springs Tour, we were to go on another hike, but really wanted to go shopping AND it was July 1st, Canada’s birthday, and there was a town festival going on, so Mimi and Eric agreed to let us break up and do some shopping and take in the festival for a couple of hours. We loved our free time. Some of us did a lot of shopping, while others spent more time at the festival.

We met back up and went back to our campsite to have a very late lunch, play on the beach, and eat an early dinner, so we could go back into Tofino to enjoy the festival and the Canada Day fireworks. The Canada Day festival was very interesting. There was a music band playing, everyone was dancing, and there were different activities to do, like walking on stilts. It was so heartwarming to see everyone having such fun together. You could really feel that there was a lot of love in this community. I have never seen a community like this before. I am so glad that I got to experience this. It will also help me to remember how friendly Canadians are.
