Recording

After coming home from Gold Stream Provincial Park, we had a quick snack and cleaned up and got ready for our recording session at Fat Dad Studio with eriksonsound. Long before we left for Canada, we had chosen, which songs we wanted to record. We had chosen, ‘One Call Away’ by Charlie Puth, and ‘We Are Here For A Good Time’ by Trooper – a Canadian band and Eric’s favourite song. What we didn’t know is that for ‘One Call Away’, we would have to sing alone, and then Ben, our professional recording artist, would remaster all our voices together to make a final copy of all our voices.

We were all immediately frightened. Even Mimi didn’t know this, so she was surprised as well. We all challenged ourselves and did our recordings by ourselves. We all felt nervous but we all done very well. At the end, we gave Eric a surprise. It was because Eric didn’t know that we had been practicing his favourite song and that we were going to record it with him.After we had all recorded our voices, Ben let us all learn how to mix voices on the sound board, and then we all got to mix the song the way we liked it best. This was an amazing experience, so thank you Ben for spending your time with us and helping us record our voices and our memories.
