Goldstream Provincial Park Trestle Bridge
The Sundogs were right!! We woke up today to overcast skies, but it didn’t look like it would rain, so we were quite happy with this, because this morning we were going hiking up to the Trestle Bridge in Goldstream Provincial Park and having a picnic lunch there, so we didn’t want it to rain on us.
Goldstream Provincial Park is so beautiful. We had to go inside a terribly dark tunnel that had many stones, but at the end of it we saw a beautiful waterfall and took a lot of photos.
Afterwards, we started our hike up to the Trestle Bridge. It was quite steep in places, and like all hiking places in Canada, there were no stairs, we had to use the rocks and tree branches to help pull ourselves up. It was so beautiful and peaceful. I could hear birds singing in the trees. When we arrived at the top, we walked across the Trestle Bridge. Mimi wanted to have our picnic in the middle of it, but some of us were a bit fearful of the bridge, so we decided to walk across and have our picnic on the other end. We had our picnic sitting on the railroad. This was the first time in my life that I have sat on a railroad, had a picnic, and been so close to a real trail, so close that I was almost sitting on the trail itself.
